The Path of Growth is Hard, And it Doesn’t Have To Be

The Path of Growth is Hard, And it Doesn’t Have To Be

This week’s blog is a little bit more personal and reflective, as I foresee some future blogs being. While the part of me that understands social media and content based business (to a somewhat good degree) and how I should write to solve your (the reader’s) problem(s), I also understand that everyone just wants to be seen. In an effort to remain authentic, I feel it is incredibly important to embrace the mess that Life can be for everyone, including myself. For today’s blog mindfulness prompt, I think we should just open our eyes together Whether that means we are seeing each other, or ourselves, or we are embracing our own messes of Life, or we choose to see that divine part of ourselves on a deeper level today: Let’s just be in understanding together.

On this journey of consistent and mindful growth I find that I am almost always in this ebb and flow, or push and pull you could say, between two aspects of myself. There is this deep, divine part of me that knows that everything is beautiful and blessing always, and then there is this humanness and (probably conditioned) ego that is both concerned for the future as well as looking at my reality, which is not where I want it to be. Within that humanness and ego I am working my damn best to ground into that divinity and knowing, and I am certainly growing into that place of divine grace and high vibration.

Here is the lesson I am learning as I move through this process… The path of growth is fucking hard, and it doesn’t have to be.

What can be hard is surrendering, but what if we just tried softening? Because that is what truly comes from the process. What can be hard is manifesting, or figuring out how to, but what if we just allowed what we wanted to appear for us? Because as I am learning, that is true manifestation. What can be hard is striving, isn’t that what you’re supposed to do on a path of personal growth and self improvement? Ahh, but what if we allowed ourselves to thrive? Right where we are. Because that is what we are meant to do. And in each passing moment we can expand our definition or experience of thriving as we grow.

There is so much resistance within surrender, manifesting (making it happen, as I often see it or brains often interpret it incorrectly), and striving. This is not the truth of any human on the planet. Resistance will not carry us gracefully into anything we desire that is divine (i.e. healing, growth, etc.). I am learning that this practice of grounding into the deeper and more divine aspect of ourselves is what will carry us deeper into our truth and power (hello, Higher Self!) and wider into bringing goodness to the world.

Where as there is virtually no resistance within softening, allowing, and thriving. It is this open, infinite opportunity of energy that we need to grow with the least resistance, mess, and pain as possible. Because let’s face it, growth can be painful often times too.

So wherever you are at in your journey today, I ask you to see how you can soften, allow, and thrive within your life more, so that your path of growth can grow a little more vibrantly with a little more ease and grace.

You Get The Results You Show Up For

You Get The Results You Show Up For

I wrote a blog about a year ago titled, Your Manifestations Will Not Work Unless You Do, and today’s blog is an evolved and simplified version of that thought process. You may have heard me say before, I find the simplest wisdom to be the most universal, and this is one of those moments. The simplicity and practicality of this truth brings out some deep and very universal wisdom.

I’ve recently had some experiences that have sewn this mantra of sorts into the very fabric of my life. Through working with mentoring clients, and seeing the different divine results each woman co-creates for herself, exploring manifestation and the teachings of Abraham in my own life, and playing and learning in that co-creative space, and simply watching how a day unfolds differently for different people and their different experiences. It has been proven to me time and time again, in the smallest and largest ways, that what you show up for is what you will receive.

This means for example, if you are having a negative experience within your day and you’d like it change, you have to change yourself. Be it through your energy, perspective, or actions – this is the way we show up for the world, and to the world. This is a foundation for all of our experiences within life. I have navigated my own law of attraction practice to discover that my shortcomings in making manifestation work for me was that I was unconsciously doubtful of what I wanted to bring into my life. That is what I showed up with, and so all I got in return was misalignment.

I have seen this with mentoring clients as well. The women who really truly deeply show up and do their work to co-create the shift they seek always find the results they desired, whereas the women who only kind of do their work (to no fault of their own, it just conveys what they are truly ready for) will only kind of touch on the results they desired. This happens within the spiritual industry on a daily basis within people’s everyday lives. They read the books, they know the principles, they find the ideas of enlightenment and the law of attraction enchanting, and yet the way they show up does not match the results they want to see.

To go even further and take the spiritual or esoteric out of the equation, the quote, “Fail fast.” is a powerful one for a reason. They say, “Fail fast.” as a way to explain that if what you are not doing is not working, you should fail with that method quickly so you can move on to find the method that will bring you to success even quicker. You get the results you show up for applies to this as well. If you are to keep showing up with a method that is not working for you, you would continue to get results that aren’t aligned with what you would want or maybe even expect. It is here you are called to show up differently, in a way that will better realize your desired results.

The way we show up is so vast, the opportunities we have to shift our energy and focus are not far and few between. We can show up with more intentional action that will bring forth positive change, we can make space for a perspective that serves a better outcome, we can shift our attitude from angst to openness, the opportunities go on and on. I invite you to take a look at what you feel is lackluster in your life right now, and see where you can shift yourself so that your results can shift with you.

Redirect Yourself : How to Shift from Upset to Empowerment

Redirect Yourself : How to Shift from Upset to Empowerment

On the day I write this I have been feeling emotionally out of it. My trust in The Universe has been shaky. My balance between masculine and feminine energy has been, well, not balanced. My consistency with blogging and working toward my goals has been lackluster. I’ve been feeling resistance and resentment more than I’d like to, especially in the last 2 days. Looking at those realities is not easy. Accepting those realities is also not easy. And turning it all around can be even harder. This is the practice in spiritual practice. This is where the climb gets a little rocky and uneasy to navigate on the journey of life.

How to Shift from Upset to Empowerment from the Spirit & Soul blog

After watching some of this year’s Super Soul Sessions I’m here at the keyboard, writing the blog for this Friday. The blog I am writing is not the blog I have ‘scheduled’. This is the dance of doing the work and serving as best as I can. An hour ago I wrote a letter to The Universe and I was kind of blunt, a little angry if I’m being honest. I wrote that letter half to The Universe as a prayer and asking for help, and half to yell at myself for not being where I need to be. This journey, this self-improvement, lead the world to the light, be of the highest integrity at every moment possible journey is fucking hard. I wrote about how Danielle LaPorte teaches to embrace the mess of the journey in her latest book this past week, and here I am fumbling through my own mess.

As I move through my own test from The Universe I’m here to get real with myself, get vulnerable with you, and share my process of redirecting my energy so that even when I find myself out of alignment I can feel empowered and confident in the journey.

I’ve stepped into a huge challenge for myself, I am one of those people who catches the vision and is determined to make it happen. This blog is a part of my vision, as is rileyreign.co, as is writing books and being a speaker at a future Super Soul Sessions. I am in this for life. I’m not sure if that’s something I decided or something that just is a part of me, but it is either way. I tend to believe that I was made for this. Because of this journey I’ve chosen, there is a hell of a lot of growing, learning, and expanding to do. While this isn’t often physical work, it is work and it can become exhausting very fast.

I find that if I don’t keep up with it and keep up with self-care, I do get tired. This is when I get doubtful, scared, or untrusting in my Higher Power. While I feel like because of the path I have chosen I do not have time for that, the reality is that I need these moments. They fuel my growth, they teach me some of the biggest lessons, and they can become my most powerful moments of empowerment — if I allow them to be, and if I do the work so that they can be.

Acknowledge that you’re in a funk.

Doing the work to transmute the tired into the empowered and the fearful or untrusting into the confident and certain is not easy, but if you can manage it, it can become one of the most valuable practices. This work begins with recognizing when you’re out of it. If you cannot recognize when you’re not in alignment and not in your power, you won’t be able to move through these feelings in the first place.

Shift your focus.

Once I’ve taken note that I am mentally, energetically, and sometimes physically not where I want to be, I do something about it. It sounds simple, I know. That’s because it is. If you aren’t where you wish to be, you’ve got to move. Growth does not come from stagnancy, it comes from movement. So when I acknowledge that I am not feeling what I need to feel I do what it takes to change it. Today that became watching Super Soul Sessions, other days it is listening to Danielle LaPorte’s ‘Decide to Rise’ spoken word. This small right action into creating momentum of motion gets me inspired. Or at the very least, it reminds me that I need to get back to work. (see the super soul sessions that inspired this blog post here and here)

Reconnect with your Truth.

Ahhh, I can breathe now. Inspiration. Refreshed by a deep reminder of my intentions. Now that I have gotten back into a place of confidence I can begin the other steps it takes to redirect my energy from upset into empowerment. This often times for me turns into a short meditation, or a rekindling of my connection with my Higher Self. Light sourcing meditations, journaling, and listening to songs that remind me of my purpose are some go-to’s for me. (listen to the song I currently have on repeat as I type this here)

Now I remember who I am, what I am doing, and where I want to go. Often times I have learned my lesson for the week/month/day and I take some deep breaths to soak it in. And I get back to work. Today this resulted in a open, vulnerable, and refreshing blog. Yes, you guessed it, it’s the one you’re reading right now.

May this process of shifting your energy guide you out of discomfort and into empowerment.

How do you shake off your doubt, upset, or fear? Do you have a different practice for redirecting your focus and energy? Please share in the comments below if you feel called to offer your practice to others.
