Honor Your Process

Honor Your Process

For the entire month of August I am publishing a brand new blog every single day, and you may have noticed that today’s blog went live a little bit later than most of my blogs thus far. This is because I had to honor my own process – and that’s exactly what todays blog is going to be about.

In our society we are not very kind to ourselves, and we tend to not give ourselves enough room to fully experience our lives. Including the less than pretty parts of it. We can live so much more fully, however, if we allow ourselves the space we need to fully honor where we are. That doesn’t mean when we come face to face with pain, emotion, or change, that we cling to it like our lives depend on it. It means that when we come face to face with pain, emotion, or change, that we allow ourselves the space to feel it, allow it to move through us, and we allow ourselves to experience our own process.

There is divine timing for everything in Life. What we often fail to see is that sometimes it is our divine timing to experience some less than magical feelings and experiences. Sometimes, the only thing Life expects from us, is for us to sit with wherever we are + whatever we are feeling. Not dwelling in it, but being with it.

Often times when I take on a new mentoring client, for a single session or a long-term mentorship, their first session ends up needing to be rescheduled for a later date. I find that this is nearly always because a client needs to learn from experience about their own divine timing, and they need to learn how to honor their own process before we begin working together to make the shifts they desire within their lives. Not only does this help them grow gentler with themselves and their experiences, it frees them from the expectation they hold on themselves so that they can be more receptive to the guidance and work that is offered to them in a mentoring session.

As much as a client may be sorry about rescheduling, I am never upset about it. I trust in their divine timing for being able to receive the guidance they need. I trust in their divine timing to be open to that guidance so that they can receive it. I trust in their process, and I want them to honor that just as deeply as they want to honor my time + energy with a mentoring session.

When we can experience the blessing of a magical mess that life is more fully, we can learn and grow with more strength and wisdom to carry us.

I promised to publish a blog everyday in the month of August, and I am. Yesterday, when I would have written this blog, I needed to breathe. I needed to be alone, to sit with where I was for a bit, and to just be there. Learning how to be in that space and allow those feelings to move through you rather than break you is a huge gift in itself.

How will you honor your process today? I’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas in the comment section below.

How To Tell Your Intuition + Ego Apart

How To Tell Your Intuition + Ego Apart

This may be one of the top 5 things that people struggle with in their spirituality + connection to their Higher Self and Source. How do you tell your intuition and your ego apart?! How can you know what you are choosing is what is right for you? And how can you know for sure which voice in your head is that of wisdom, and which one is of ego. I can tell you that there are some very simple ways to detect which voice + thought pattern is which, but sometimes it is very hard to tell the two apart.

So how can you easier tell your inner voices apart? It’s easier than you may think! And still, sometimes it will be difficult to find your true soul answers, but I have a few tricks for those times too.

How To Tell Your Intuition + Ego Apart from The Spirit & Soul Blog

Which voice is kind?

Each of us has a quiet, calm, and kind whisper within us, and a loud, defensive, not so kind voice to balance that. Your intuition will be the voice speaking to you softly, with clear knowing and trust. This whisper may not know how things will happen, but it knows they will. Whereas the ego voice will question everything the quiet heartfelt whisper is telling you, and will find ways to make you doubt what that simple, trusting whisper will have to say.

Which voice knows that you are divine?

Often times, we will find that the whispering voice believes that you can do anything (because you can, duh.), and the louder defensive ego voice will promote, and sometimes scream at you, limiting belief patterns. The voice that is completely faithful in your capability, magic, and willingness to trust in what it has to say is your intuition. The voice that forces possible problems down your throat, and questions your capability and magic, and tries to guilt you into playing small, that is your ego.

Which voice is understanding?

The two voices within us usually have these two undertones or personality types, 1) judgemental AF or 2) universally understanding. When you learn to seperate your intuition from your ego and acknowledge what each voice sounds like, and how each one acts, you will find this to be true for yourself. Look for guidance from the voice that encompasses universal understanding. This relates to the self, too. Which voice understands what you want, or are trying to achieve, and which voice is judgemental and questions your own desires? That which is understanding is your higher self, and that is where your intuition lies.

Where does this voice speak from?

Our ego speaks from our headspace, it is logical, and it follows and feeds into its own thought patterns of negativity, doubt, self-sabotage, and fear. Our intuition speaks from our heart space, and only offers its wisdom for you if you’d like to trust in its guidance. Where are the thoughts you are hearing speaking from? There you can see which voice is intuition and which is ego. Feel into the thought, and feel where it speaks from. Your heartspace is where your higher self exists, your headspace is where our biology allows us to analyze. Follow your heartspace. Analyzing has a place and time, but when you are seeking your own intuitive guidance it has no place.

Which voice knows, and which voice questions?

The voice that knows is the voice that speaks your truth. When you hear your intuition, what is says is, “This is your path. No questions, this is where you need to go/what you need to do.” The voice that questions, what a cute little ego, is the voice that says, “But what about this, and this, and this and this and this?!! What about those, huh? This isn’t going to work.” *insert sarcasm here* That voice doesn’t sound threatened by the clarity and cool-as-a-cucumber vibe that the other voice offered you, right? The voice that is cool as a cucumber is the one that speaks your truth and is offering you your divine guidance + work.

The more you listen to that quiet whisper, the louder it will become and the easier it will be to see, feel, and hear. I’d love to know which tool was your favorite to recognize the difference between your ego + intuition, so please feel free to share with us in the comments below!

Practicing Compassion When It Feels Impossible

Practicing Compassion When It Feels Impossible

There is an energy around right now, that has been around for a while, that is very tense, scarcity driven, and reactionary. I’d like to do what I can to soften that today with some inspiration to practice compassion with more intention and purpose, so that you can feel empowered rather than defeated as you deal with our current state of the world.

In a recent blog I wrote about how the world is going to change, and I would like to add on to that thought process a bit today. The world cannot change if we continue to react + feed the cycle of negativity, fear, and hatred. It is up to us to keep the light and high vibrations up, with integrity. This means staying in our own light and power even in the darkest and scariest of situations or energy. This means living from our truth – love – even when it feels fucking impossible.

What happened in Charlottesville, Virginia recently is a call for compassion + light. It is a reminder that darkness and bad things exist in this world, and it is our job to outshine that with our own light + love. I’m not talking about cute woo girl instagram light + love either, I am talking about real, physical, intentional, purposeful, selfless light and love. Our truth is love. We need to uphold that, and bring it’s truth to our reality. We need to show up not only with prayers, but with our actions, and equally but very importantly with our energy. If we sink into disbelief, lack of trust in the process, or darkness ourselves, we will get no where.

If you want to serve this world, and leave it better than you came into it, we must show the fuck up. I know, it’s scary to do that, especially with the surrounding energies that we are continuing to manifest. We’ve got to move through that resistance though. After all, resistance is only an opportunity, a doorway if you will, for growth and expansion.

If you’re ready to do your part, I challenge you to start with practicing unconditional compassion. Find a way to feel or express compassion to the thing that is triggering you today – and yes, if the thing that is triggering you is what happened in Charlottesville, then ask how you can find compassion for the attendees of that rally. One of the most simple things that can change the world as we know it, if we allow it to, is kindness and compassion. If 1/8th of us made an effort to be more kind and compassionate, unconditionally, the ripple effect would expand enough for the most of us to be shifting the energy and consciousness of the world. All we have to do is show up, one by one, because we know we need to.

You know you need to. I know I need to. So let’s show up together today with unconditional compassion. When we choose not to show up and do our part, that is when the world finds itself in a space like it is in now. We are being called, very clearly, to make a change. I know that I will answer that call as often as I can. Will you answer your call?

I hope todays blog has brought you some food for thought, and has been able to inspire + empower you to unconditionally work your light and show up for the change you wish to see in the world. If you’re open to being vulnerable, because there is power in vulnerability, I would love to know how you can find compassion for the thing that is triggering you today. If you want to be a part of the ripple, please share your experience in the comments!

How To Transform Your Life

How To Transform Your Life

Transformation might often seem like a mystical occurence that isn’t truly felt or seen until all of the work within it is done and gone, but I find that transformation can be even more powerful, and a little bit more pleasant, when experienced with intention. Change does not have to be scary or hard. Shifting our lives from dislike to head over heels in love with our experience is not a hard thing to do, either. It breaks my heart to see people feeling or living as if they are unworthy of the magical lives they desire.

Here is the only excuse that you may have to not begin an intentional transformation within your life, “I wouldn’t know where to start!” Fair enough. That’s valid to a degree, I will admit. Now, let’s break through that.  If you want to know how to begin a transformation for your life, I invite you to keep reading!

Get Clarity

You cannot transform or shift anything into anything else unless you have clarity on what it is that you want to achieve. The butterfly doesn’t just go, “Oh maybe I’ll transform into this beautiful creature.” It is in the butterfly’s DNA to be that vibrant fluttering piece of magic. I invite you to introspect for a moment… Are you living up to what you know you are meant to be? Why or why not? What does the life of the person you know you are meant to be look like? That is where you will find your clarity. Ask yourself if you are all that you can be, or even close to where + who you would like to be.

Be Open

You can both be experiencing resistance and be intentionally open to what that resistance has to offer you (hint: it is not staying where you are). One of the most important things about being able to transform, shift, or realign your life is to be open to the experience. Every bit of it. When you shut down or put up walls as high and wide as you can, that is when the magic of the world can no longer reach you. Allow your walls to slowly fall. Let the light in. Be open to what a transformation has in store for you.

Another way to look at this principle is this: openness + allowing. Allowing, not forcing. As well as granting yourself permission. Part of the reason we do not grow or transform into the people we are meant to be is because the world and society has conditioned us to believe things are too good to be true, instead of just good and being radically grateful for that. We are trained to self-sabotage. Be open, allow yourself to experience the light you were meant to be and to experience. Train yourself to know how divinely supported + guided you are

Just Start

“I wouldn’t even know where to begin.” Are you ready to break that excuse into a million pieces? Take a deep breath. You always know what to do next. The real question is, are you listening? There is one thing that will press on your mind in a quiet whisper when you think of how you might begin to transform, shift, or realign your life. Follow that whisper, because it is your next step.

Take one next step that you are guided to take, and the rest will reveal themselves. If you can follow that one whisper of how to begin, all next right steps will reveal themselves in their divine timing, and you will be carried to your dream results, experiences, etc. sooner than you think.

I hope these principles have sparked some inspiration for you and can serve and carry you along your journey. If you resonated with any of these tools, I’d love to hear why in the comments below! If you are curious about transformation, and how you can continue to follow your transformation path please let me know in a comment! I am working on something magical that will have opportunity for you to continue to transform in the coming months, so if you’re interested I would love to keep you in the know about this project!

How Letting Go of Judgement Can Free You

How Letting Go of Judgement Can Free You

Today I asked my oracle cards what I should write about, and the card that came up was Envy. I was a little bit confused about this, because that isn’t something I have really experienced recently. After meditating with the card for a bit though, I was drawn to the mantra it offered: I am the same as everybody but with different challenges. I mentioned vast simplicity in yesterdays blog, and this theme continues to show up today. Can you see and feel the vast simplicity within that mantra?

We’re human, we’re not perfect (even though we are), and we judge each other for that alot. A lot more than we truly ever need to. I think our society is definitely in need of looking in the mirror, especially when it comes to our toxic judgements against each other. You see, judgement is a learned thing, we are not born into any kind of negativity (judgement, scarcity mindset, depression, etc.) and just as we learned it (intentionally or not) it is time we unlearn it.

It is time we let go of our judgement, and come back to what is most important. I recently attended an event that had a lot of judgement surrounding it, and as I was getting ready for this event earlier in the day I thought of all of the things I had heard from the attendees. All of the judgements, and assumptions, and it all stemmed from curiosity, but it was misaligned. In the car on the way to this event I said to some of the people around me, “You know, we’ve been incredibly judgemental. Are you guys aware of how not okay that is?” After some observation and reflection I’ve got to say, this felt so wrong of us to do.

From The Soul’s Journey Lessons Deck

“Who fucking cares about the details of this,” I said, “As long as they are happy that is all that matters to me.” Because that is what is important, and in that realization I found myself freer than before. I was able to enjoy and have compassion toward an event I had not even wanted to attend beforehand. I am reminded of some wisdom Gabby Bernstein once shared with me that went something along the lines of, “The words don’t matter, it’s the energy that is most important.” Which I think relates to this reflection on judgement. The details, the physicalities, those things don’t matter. What matters is that the person, place, or thing that we are judging is experiencing or serving the highest good.

There is a level of universal understanding that you’ll find when you release your judgements of others, as well as yourself. You will grow more compassion, because you will see that everyone is doing the best they can with what they have. You will allow yourself to be more powerful, because you will see where you are giving away your power, you will step back into that space, and you will be able to show up in the best way you can. You will see that we are all just walking our paths and experiencing our journey’s in the best way we can, and that all that matters is if we are happy and serving the highest good of ourselves and those around us.

I invite you to release your judgemental thoughts or feelings in the comments of this blog, and share how free you feel afterward as well.
