The One Mindset That Will Make You Grow The Most

In the process of personal development and spiritual growth it can sometimes be easy to still fall into old patterns of allowing limiting beliefs to both be present and be accepted as if they are true. It can sometimes be hard to recognize these instances and patterns of fear, and it can be even more difficult to break those patterns.

It is one thing to take note of everything that holds you back, and it is another to move through those very blocks. This kind of practice can be extremely trying (if that is what you make of it) and it can also be one of the most valuable pieces of your life. It is hard work, sometimes it is the least fun thing you can do, and often it takes quite a bit of emotional energy.

I find that the most powerful and universal wisdom is also the simplest, and this tool for empowering growth is a great example of just that. Many of us are aware of the presence of resistance within ourselves, for the most part. Resistance is most often manifested as a feeling of hesitation, fear, or doubt. This presence could sometimes be interpreted as intuitive ‘protection’, but what many don’t know is that resistance is often a doorway to some of the greatest experiences of growth you can live.

If you choose to allow your resistance to be a doorway, when you acknowledge the presence of resistance choosing to move through it can be the most liberating and empowering experience. In my personal experience, it always is. This is because when you choose to let go of inhibitions and go after the thing that makes you most uncomfortable you are pushed to expand. Your mind opens, your heart stretches, and your spirit will begin to sing.

A prime example of this for me has been reaching out to some of my inspirations. As a young blogger, author and mentor I want to be where my inspirations are. I want to be in their world of light and world shifting love, awareness, and compassion, and to do that I have to connect with those beautiful people in some way. “But oh my, judgement, what if they don’t like what I do, am I worthy of knowing them?” Hello, resistance.

There, I can accept my doubt and fear, or I can see it as an opportunity to expand even more. I don’t know about you, but I like opportunity a whole lot more than being okay with living small minded. So I emailed them, the top 3 women that shifted my life and inspired my work to begin, and now inspire it to continue and deepen and grow richer in flavor. While those 3 emails didn’t get the response my ego would’ve liked, I have since worked with those 3 incredible ladies in some way and I am on my way to that original goal realizing. Can you hear my spirit singing and feel my heart’s fullness, too?

If you can lean into your resistance, meaning feel the fear and do it anyway, you will set yourself free. Taking this kind of action will give you permission to grow in the way you’ve always wished to. If you are courageous enough to face yourself, you will begin to break you own glass ceilings.
