Your Intuition Is Your Soul Compass

In many of my recent mentoring sessions (for which I have 4 intensive program spaces open, for more info click here) the intuition has been a big topic of growth for many people. Now, before you try to tell me, “Oh, but I’m not intuitive.” let me say, everyone has gifts, everyone has an intuition, and you must practice listening and being open if you’d like to experience or work with that part of yourself.

So why does the intuition come up in mentoring sessions so often? Life gets us distracted easily, and even though we hear those intuitive whispers, other things pull at our thoughts and distract us from our own clarity. That’s truly the biggest thing people find too, is that they had the clarity they were seeking, they just wouldn’t allow themselves to trust in it until I could validate it for them or reflect it back to them. So many women come to me with their problems and opportunities for growth and express their feelings of how unclear they are, and then continue to express to me exactly what they want. Exactly what direction they want to go in, or what would feel best to them.

Ahh, ladies (and guys, too) we must not dismiss those whispers. Because those whispers are soul answers that are divinely guided specifically for you along your journey. But you know that! Maybe you just need me to validate it for you or reflect it back to you?

Here is the deal, our intuition is our soul compass and when we do not follow it, trust it, and ground ourselves into it, that my friends is when and why we find ourselves feeling so lost and confused. “But what does intuition even feel (or sound) like?” you may ask… Your intuition sounds like the kindest whispering voice in your mind. When you listen to it and tune into it, it will grow louder. Your intuition feels like the truth. Take a deep inhale. Now exhale and allow yourself to sink into your heart.

Did you feel that? That is where your soul knowing resides, within all of the love that you are. Your intuition feels like that, too. Like what you’re experiencing is right, and serves the highest good of all. What your intuition is not is greedy, mean, or self-deprecating. That my dear, would be your ego-mind. Learning the difference between the two can rock your world, and break it open (in a very very good way). I invite you today to observe this for yourself — What does your heart and soul say? What does your ego say? What feels right and good? And what feels out of alignment and out of your truth?

Everyone has an intuition, and a soul knowing within, are you open to yours? Do you want to experience the divine unshakeable guidance that you already encompass? Listen to the quietest, kindest voice in your mind. Follow what feels right, even if it feels a little odd or scary. Listen to what your heart space has to say. Feel that clarity, allow yourself to trust in it, and to follow it with conviction. Your life will expand as your openness to your guidance expands.

This Is How The World Is Going To Change

I am blogging every day this month, and with that, I am going to practice allowing. Today this means I am allowing what wants to be written to be written and shared, which I haven’t done in quite a while and it feels good so far.

The world is not going to change by you screaming about what you don’t want, though it may make your throat hurt. The world is not going to change from your rage tweets, either. Though you may get cramps in your hands from the way you grip your phone in despair. I also doubt the world is going to change only from your protests. This goes for all sides.

The world will not change if you are trying to prove yourself right, or someone else wrong. It will not change if you spend your time sharing your opinion through memes, if you spend your time printing tee shirts that read ‘RESIST’, or if you spend your time trying to be okay with what feels wrong or upsetting that is going on in the world.

The world is not going to change if you eat kale and meditate on peace everyday. Maybe the meditating will help, but you’ll need a lot more where that came from, and you are only one person.

I’m sorry, the world is not going to change with that masterfully written think piece from HuffPost being shared a few hundred times, either.

The world will not change with your spirituality or religion, with your hope or your faith, or your lack thereof. We do not need the government to change for our world to change, either.

We need us to change. 

If you want to know how the world is going to change, ask yourself how you can change the world. If the whole world feels too big for you to heal, help, or uplift, then start with your world. Heal, help, and uplift yourself. Maybe you’ll inspire others along the way. Heal, help, and uplift your family, your friends, your office. Heal, help, and uplift your city if you can. Do your best. 

But please, just do something. I write because I want to inspire and empower people, and because I know that in time that will help to change the world.

 

 

Why do you do what you do? Give it meaning, give it purpose. Bring your work, whatever it is to life. Bring it light.

The world will change when we stop kicking and screaming, but instead choose to stand up straight, step off our pedestals or break our own chains, and get our hands in the soil. Do the work. Dig deep. Heal deeply. Help deeply. Uplift with all of the light that you can. And then make more of that light, because you’ll need it tomorrow.

The world will change when we can change ourselves. Who do you want to be in this life? Live that out loud. What do you want to be remembered for? Live that out loud.

The world will change when we stop looking away from the homeless beggars on the street corner while we judge them and what they could have used your money for, and instead pray for them and hold space for them to find what it is that they need on their journey.

The world will change when we tell our fear and concern of the reality to “Hush, now”, because we have work to do, and we can’t be bothered if we want the change we wish to see in the world be realized. The world will change, you see, when we bring our light to the negativity. Not when we try to drown it out completely, but rather by shifting its energy intentionally.

The Law of Attraction says that as much as you dream something into being, there must be action to support its manifestation. You can dream your dream car up, but when it offers itself to you if you say “No” to signing the papers, what good was your dreaming for anyway? We’ve all dreamed up our dreams of the beautiful world we live in and how it could be more beautiful, we better make damn sure we dot our I’s and cross our T’s, shouldn’t we?

The world will change when we show up to our work with hands ready to create and spirits ready to grow. When we can not just be a part of the conversation, or the resistance, or the movement, but when we can be a part of each other. When we can see ourselves in each other, and when we can both be at peace with our differences, and continue to work together. The world will change when we let our hearts and souls guide us, rather than our thoughts and opinions.

If darkness is the greatest canvas for light, then the world will change when we hold gratitude for our darkness, and begin to paint our light.

This Journey Called Life - How To Trust In It + Learn To Dance With It

I knew blogging everyday for the 31 days of August would open up some weird experiences and energies, and four days in the energetic awareness is not disappointing! I’ve been feeling a lot today. Some amazing things about amazing projects that I get to be a part of, and some less than magical things because, hey, I’m a human experiencing this journey called Life, too. So today, I write this blog both to remind myself of these powerfully peaceful philosophies just as much as I write about them to offer you the insight, wisdom, and guidance that can carry you along your journey.

Life is a journey and a process, and I was reminded today that we must allow ourselves space to experience that in the most graceful and aligned way that we can. I was reminded of a few of the things that are the most important to my journey and I was called to share those things with you today. I know they will guide you divinely. They will bring you home to yourself, and carry you forward in your journey.

Follow Your Signs -

Especially when they don’t make much sense. Follow your signs. The signs you know are made for you. Like the one crystal owl totem in the metaphysical store, even if you aren’t sure of what it means you know it is for you and it has things to teach you. The butterfly that lands on your leg during meditation. The angel numbers you’ve been seeing all day. See those signs, understand what they have to share with you, and follow their guidance.

For those of you unfamiliar with this kind of thing, I’ll share with more simplicity and clarity. You know when you have seen a sign that is yours, and that is guiding you. It is so important along this journey of Life to trust in those signs, because they are divine gifts of guidance, and allow them the guide you and serve you on your path.

 

Know the Divinity Within Everything -

Following that divinity train mentioned above, I’d like to offer something that can really help you to trust in Life and the experiences it can bring you. To know the divinity within everything means to have awareness and understanding that every single thing that occurs on this earth, within our lives and the world, is meant to be the way it is. This includes the guy that cut you off on the highway, the negative experiences you find yourself in during life, or the way things seem to fall apart at times.

 

Allow Your Mess To Move Through You -

And here we deepen the dance with Life. Can you allow your mess to move through you, rather than fighting it yourself, or breaking through it’s  limitations? If you can allow your mess to move through you with openness and compassion toward yourself, you will find the experience to be more gentle, and much more wise than you maybe would have been open to if you were fighting against your darkness or mess(es) in Life. Breathe. Trust in the process. Continue to dance. And allow your mess to move through you.

 

Lean Into Gratitude -

When sh*t is hitting the fan or you are feeling triggered by something negative in your life, it can be incredibly important to lean into gratitude. Not only to keep things balanced and keep your energy high, but also to cultivate an intentional energy of abundance that can be amplified, instead of whatever negative energy you may be dealing with. Take gratitude in everything you can - the sunset, your beating heart and breathing lungs, the daisy you saw growing through the cracks of the sidewalk today, the way you were able to express your thoughts just as you wanted to earlier, the fact that you have a roof over your head and that you are always divinely supported, etc.

 

Give Yourself Space -

Perhaps the most important thing to guide you into trusting in the journey of Life and learning to dance with it. Allow yourself the space that is available to you so that you may come to trust, and learn to dance. Allow yourself the space to let your messes move through you, to lean into gratitude, to see the divinity within everything, and to follow your signs.

How To Create Your Mindful Morning Routine

I have a deep love for simple practices that make a powerful impact, and the morning routine has the potential to be one of those practices. This past New Year I began navigating what my mindful morning routine would look + feel like for me. Now that my practice has realized itself, I want to help you find your groove! That is why I am writing today about how to create your mindful morning routine.

The morning routine is something most people often find rather dull and repetitive. What if you could have a routine that centered you, helped you connect deeper with your Source, and start you off in the right energy to have a smooth and peaceful day, nearly every day?

This possibility is more than attainable. This year I have a lot of work to do to achieve the goals I will achieve… Don’t we all? That workload can often feel heavy, overwhelming, and stressful. Possibly so much so that it makes you back away from doing the work that needs to be done?

I felt that way the last few months of 2016 and knew I needed something to shift in a big way. That is when I got the message that I needed to get my shit together, and it needed to start with my first actions in the morning. Below are the steps I took to find my perfect practice. I guarantee these steps will help you find your practice, too.

Decide What You Want ~

Decide what you want your practice to look like, feel like, smell like. Get into all of the little details of what you want to feel, do, and experience on a daily basis with this practice. Now, this is likely not going to be exactly how your practice will begin, or unravel for you. It will however give a clear message to the Universe of what you feel you need to succeed.

Begin Your Navigation With Openness ~

I say navigation for a reason. Starting your practice of the mindful routine will be an exploration of what works for you and what just plain doesn’t. I wanted to wake up a 6:30 every morning, start my meditation, move into my journaling, and then have my computer work done by noon. My practice looks nothing like that.

I get up earlier, but not at 6:30. I meditate and journal to start off my day, but not right when I wake up (I will fall asleep everytime). I get my work done by 12, but not noon. I am not a morning person,  though I could force myself to be one.

However, forcing myself makes my practice feel like a chore, and I want it to feel free flowing and divinely guided. I have to honor my natural tendencies so that my practice has the space to feel the way I want it to feel, and manifest the things I want it to manifest.

Listen To The Signs ~

Your practice will become it’s own synergetic vision blended with your vision. This creates space for magic. Do not kick yourself for not waking up early enough, or not having gotten dressed until noon,etc. That kind of resistance will keep you from finding your blissful experience that you crave.

I kicked myself for not waking up early enough, for about 2 weeks I kept hitting that snooze button and feeling shameful immediately afterwards. I got tired of that pattern and I let it go.

I saw the pattern as a sign that I needed to open up, because I was feeling that resistance big time. We all want our practices to flow, but many aren’t willing or aware that we have to flow with them at times.

Be Fiercely Dedicated ~

Nothing will work if you are not dedicated fiercely, and unforgivingly committed. Show up everyday. Wholeheartedly. With love. And openness. And gentleness.

 

These are the steps I took to shift my life to where I wanted it to be — to where I needed it to be. Why Intention Should Be Your Focus This New Years

New Years is undoubtedly my favorite time of the year and it breaks my heart to see so many lovely people fail themselves and their goals, so this year I invite you to begin your goals in a different way than before — with Intention. Intention is something I see lacking in our culture often. As a culture of nice things, materialism, and being mostly inauthentic I feel like these are the reasons we fail our own goals and resolutions. Our goals and resolutions often do not even resonate with us. They often don’t have clarity.

So I invite you to look at the resolutions you think you’ll be making this year, and look at why you are making them. Truly, deeply, why are you making these resolutions? What do they serve? Why do you want these things to realize into your life? And then ask yourself the kicker, do these things truly, deeply align with me and my feelings?

 

Some things may completely align for you, and some might not. This is where Intention comes into play. The things that align and feel right likely have clear and aligned intentions, while the other goals and resolutions will not. When one begins something with clear concise intentions, they are beginning with power.

When your focus is on intention more than it is on the outcome, there is deep clarity that stems from that focus. And when one can keep their focus on their intentions rather than a possible negativity that may be arising within a goal’s realizing, that persons focus on their intentions can consistently inspire them and  motivate them by purpose, rather than the material thing itself.

Intention is such a simple perspective switch that can invoke so much power into a manifestation or realization of something. That little switch in perspective can make or break how smooth and sweet or rough and sweaty the journey is of creating and achieving something. Danielle Laporte’s book The Desire Map is a fabulous resource and tool for any who need help setting intentional and aligned goals/resolutions.
