Let it Rain // A Gentle Reminder

Without rain there mat be no flowers
no growth
Without the beautiful cold storms we may never know
true warmth
Without rain there may be no cleansing
no purification of the earth
Without the rain we would lose too many beautiful stories of love
and life and mad magic and beauty
So darling,
let it rain

Be Present // A Gentle Reminder

Be present. Be here. Be now.
Wholeheartedly. Show up.
Be the light, all here or not at all
Savour it. Expand with it, within it.
Give each moment deeper meaning, make it more.
Give a little bit of yourself, your magic, to every moment you can
At the very least, be present.
Be here + be now
There is no reason not to

Overcoming Stress + Overwhelm

5

Stress + overwhelm. Sometimes it is totally valid and sometimes these feelings could not be bigger upper limits. Either way we cannot let stress and overwhelm hinder our creation or confidence. So how do we overcome such emotions?

We’ve got to feel our feelings and move through them, it is a part of life we must experience. It is a huge part of why we are here in the first place I believe. Yet we shouldn’t wallow or be overly dramatic about the situations we are in. So really take a look at what you are feeling and why. Honor your Now. Acknowledge and learn where you are at.

Figure out if what you are experiencing is reality, or if you are dramatically reimagining a version of reality. Then return to your center, remember your truths. Your power, your capability, your connection, your faith (whatever that may be for you). If your feelings are valid, root into your center and get serious, get to work on whatever mental block is causing you worry and heal it. Make something amazing come of it, as only you can.

If your feelings are overdone with the unnecessary worry and future tripping, find your center and root into it. Remind yourself of what is real and true. Sink into your peace and calm and bathe there for a while. Release your worrisome future tripping mentality and revel deeply into your Now.

The Now is the only real thing there is in regards to time, so why not live in it? Rather than the past or future, live in right now. Stressing, worrying, being worked up about ‘what if’s’ doesn’t give you any truthful, honest, or real answers… Being in the present does. Making the Now yours + incredible for you is all you can do. So long as you are doing your best (your truest best… it’s better than you think. More than you realize you are capable) you are golden.

Love Your Darkness // A Gentle Reminder

Love your Darkness, for through it you will find light. You will learn and you will grow. You will be taught and you will come to teach.
Love your Darkness, for it never intended to hurt you, it only ever wanted to help you learn
and become better. It never intended to bring you down, it only wants to teach you how to rise up.
You don’t have to like your darkness or the experiences you go through with it. At the very least though you love your Darkness, hold gratitude for it. Show it understanding and love just as it is, for all that it is.
Love your Darkness for keeping you balanced, love your darkness for teaching you balance.
Love your Darkness for loving you, enough to learn your path and explore on your own, and still being there when you don’t know.
For in the midst of the madness saying, “You’re going to be fine. Just be patient.”
Love your Darkness because it is a part of you, and to truly wholly love yourself you must accept and love all of you
Love your Darkness because it does not deserve to be hated.
Because whether you want to accredit it or not, your Darkness has taught you the most about life and who you are, who you wish to become.
Love your Darkness because it is equal to your Spirit + Soul
It is equal to your light.
Love your Darkness for it is teaching you strength, it is teaching you understanding, it is teaching you love.

Hold Gratitude // A Gentle Reminder

Hold gratitude for this lifetime
Take your thankfulness and state it, claim it.
Acknowledge the magic, the blessings, the guidance. Acknowledge the lessons, the growth, the expansion
Share it, implement it, use it to teach
Others and yourself
Look at the positive, the negative, the in between.
It’s all a part of the journey. The evolution of your being.
Study all the good stuff, it can move you to tears.
Study all the bad stuff, use it to break through those fears.
Life is not easy, yet it doesn’t have to be hard.
Use your beautiful, powerful, gracious mind
Bring light to the light and the blessings will multiply.
Be open, be receptive
Go through the motions, move through the lessons
And through it all hold Gratitude
Because there are so many blessings

THE DESIRE MAP ~ Danielle Laporte

main-desire-book“Your bucket list. Quarterly objectives. Strategic plans. Big dreams. Goals. Lots of goals and plans to achieve those goals—no matter what. Except …

You’re not chasing the goal itself, you’re actually chasing the feeling that you hope achieving that goal will give you.

Which means we have the procedures of achievement upside down. We go after the stuff we want to have, get, or accomplish, and we hope that we’ll be fulfilled when we get there. It’s backwards. And it’s burning us out.

So what if you first got clear on how you actually wanted to feel in your life, and then created some “Goals with Soul”?

With The Desire Map, Danielle LaPorte brings you a holistic life-planning tool that will revolutionize the way you go after what you want in life. Unapologetically passionate and with plenty of warm wit, LaPorte turns the concept of ambition inside out and offers an inspired, refreshingly practical workbook for using the Desire Map process:

  • Identify your “core desired feelings” in every life domain: livelihood & lifestyle, body & wellness, creativity & learning, relationships & society, and essence & spirituality
  • Create practical “Goals with Soul” to generate your core desired feelings
  • Why easing up on your expectations actually liberates you to reach your goals
  • Self-assessment quizzes, worksheets, and complete Desire Mapping tools for creating the life you truly long for”
This book has turned the way I look at manifesting & co-creating my life upside down… or rather, right side up.

Miracles Now ~ Gabrielle Bernstein

MiraclesNow“Let’s be real for a sec. Most of us don’t have time for an hour of yoga or 30 minutes of meditation every day. We’re overwhelmed as it is. Our spiritual practice shouldn’t add to that.
That’s why I’ve handpicked 108 simple techniques to combat our most common problems—stress, burnout, frustration, jealousy, resentment. The stuff we have to deal with on a daily basis. This book is designed so that you can achieve peace and experience miracles now.
Inspired by some of the greatest spiritual teachings, these practical, moment-to-moment tools will help you eliminate blocks and live with more ease. They’re powerful, life-changing meditations and principles, modernized and broken down into easy-to-digest techniques to fit your lifestyle.
Throughout the book, I share principles from both A Course in Miracles and Kundalini yoga and meditation. These tools can help you find your connection to your inner strength. When you practice these techniques, fear will melt away, inspiration will spring up, and a sense of peace will set in.”

I haven’t read this one all the way through, but I use it like a tarot or an oracle when I know I need something to recenter me in a really powerful way and the tools this book provides are just that. Powerful + effective.

Light Is The New Black ~ Rebecca Campbell

413lVsa6Q-L._SX319_BO1,204,203,200_“Light Is the New Black is a guidebook for a new breed of women who are here to be bright lights in the world – modern-day lightworkers, who agreed to be here at this time in history. In order to thrive in this new age, everything we do must be an authentic expression of who we truly are. Light Is the New Black will guide you back home to the callings of your soul, so you can light up the world with your presence.”

This one is so near and dear to my heart, my copy is ear marked and highlighted every other page, if not every page. You could call it my version of a bible, but that may upset some.

All of these books have made a drastic, and hugely positive impact on my life and I want to share it with anyone who is open to it. To enter the giveaway enter your here. The Grand Prize winner will receive a copy of each book listed, and 3 runner ups with receive 1 copy of the 3, intuitively chosen. Finding Balance in The Letting It Happen & Making It Happen

Ariana Huffington has this saying that I have purposefully pinned at the forefront of my mind since the first time I heard it.

12884514_994055197340534_1649349566_n - Copy (8)

I believe in balance, both in finding it and creating it. Sometimes balance is given to us, sometimes we subconsciously create it, sometimes we very consciously create it. We may have all noticed at some point within our lives that there is a fine balance between making it happen, and letting it happen (by whatever Divine power you choose to believe in). I have always been the ‘Make It Happen’ kind of chick, by determination and sheer will. My friends used to have me do all of the planning and asking for things because I seemed to be the only one who could make it happen. I was the one who made it happen (98% of the time 😉 .

Simultaneously I wasn’t that attached to the outcome and was totally cool when something didn’t happen. It was the way by which something was denied that was heavily aggravating at the time. I have begun to learn to dance with Life though. More flexibly and closely. It is a beautiful, mystical thing let me tell you. Learning how to dance and flow with the Divine, in rhythmic, artistic collaboration. Learning when to let things happen and be open, and learning when to make things happen and go after something. When to put your head down and get the fuck to work, and when to stretch your arms out wide and allow The Universe, The Divine, to do Her thang.

When I am working too hard + fast + seriously (this is when I burn out) I recognize the imbalance and shift my focus to stepping back and reaching my arms out. When I’ve had my arms outstretched for longer than pleasant and my arms have grown tired I switch my focus to, “How badly do I want this, and what do I need to do to get it?” and I put my head down and do the work that needs to be done.

Sometimes we are magnetic and attract all of our wishes and desires, sometimes we get caught up in our own hustle, becoming a tornado of ‘make it happen’ and we begin deflecting some really great things that The Divine is trying to gift us. It is up to us to find our balance + rhythm of this dance. To know when to be a powerful swirling energy of hustle and to know when to get still, be open, attract, and receive with gratitude and open arms.

It is a dance. It’s not always easy to follow and pay attention to the steps + timing, but man it’s fun. Each person will have their own learning curve to move through. Each dance has it’s own timing and mystical, divine rhythm. Release your expectations, open up your awareness, and get to dancing.

You cannot find your way without first starting your quest. You cannot learn to flow within your rhythm without first getting lost in the dance for a moment.

Living From Heart Center

heartcenter

It is not easy, this living from Heart center thing. What does it mean to live from heart center? A lot. I am learning, and it is for sure a process + practice.

To live from heart center means to follow you heart, where your intuition lies, to know when to get out of your own head and get back to your calm + centered clarity.
To live from heart center means to hold compassion + understanding, to practice non judgement.
To live from heart center means to follow your heart. Its bliss, its calls, its joy, and its protective boundaries.
To live from heart center is to be mindful.
To live from heart center is to always come from a space of light, compassion, and calm.

I certainly am not perfect, and I most definitely do not always come from the space of my heart’s center + compassion, however a practice is a practice for a reason. It is a process of learning, fine tuning, being open, being willing to catch yourself, and growing like any other. The awareness and lessons that come from it though are so very powerful.

I challenge anyone reading this to do your best and live from heart center this week if you dare. Get in touch with that space, what it means and what it feels like. Notice how your mindset, perspective, and energy shifts. You may find there is so much going on in your life that is unnecessary, you may find a much kinder way of going about things in your day to day. You may catch yourself catch up in the avalanche of your thoughts and remember, “I need to go back to my heart,” and find more peace with everything.

Hold awareness, be mindful, compassionate, and have understanding.
