In Roger’s own words, here is his story of transformation…

“My story… wow, that’s a potential novel (really)!  I am a single dad, and have spent the last 7 years raising 5 awesome kids, on my own. It’s taught me a lot about what maters in life.  I have been a life coach, for 20+ years, and the last 10 as a Master NLP Practitioner. I have a deep passion for helping people realize the Divine Truths about themselves and create a bigger, better, life of magic.  I’ve gone through massive transformation in my own life over the last 10 years, and find that my authenticity and passion can impact others, and empower them to dream and move!   My own growth, required the shedding of nearly everything I was taught and believed growing up, which forced me to recreate myself, from scratch.  I made many mistakes along the way, and each one of them taught me a more beautiful lesson than the one before.   My work as a Life Coach/Master NLP Practitioner over 20 years brought me to a deep passion around helping people break through their limiting beliefs.  I believe that limiting beliefs are the cause of most issues/challenges that people have.  With that said, I discovered something profound this past summer. My personal focus this year, has been around self love. I really wanted to fall in love with myself.  As I went through this process, I came to a realization that SELF LOVE is truly the root of it all. The more I fell in love with myself, the less power my limiting beliefs had over me, and the more I was able to see my weaknesses and challenges.  It’s been a pretty amazing journey!” ~ Roger Webb

Now let’s get into this inspirational interview!

Where were you at before you transformed your life? What was your experience, emotional state, and perspective like?

I am having a hard time remembering that man. I was raised in a pretty controlling religious upbringing, where I was told what and how to believe. In the end, very little of those beliefs stuck with me, as I shed them for a deeper and greater understanding of universal truths, and my own relationship with Divinity.  I was the opposite of what I am today. I was timid, quiet, reserved, and led a very mediocre life, which was just fine for me, back then.   I saw life through a VERY small lens. Everything was black or white. My view of life, the world, and humanity was very one sided. I had no clue what my role was on this Earth, and was ok with that. I was also living in a space in which it wasn’t ok to be authentic. No one talked about what was really going on inside of them. Especially if it was viewed as negative. I wore the same mask that most of those in my life wore.  Everything was ok, and God forbid we ever said otherwise.  That led me to living a life of being numb.  I knew about emotions, but I had no reference point for many of them. I knew sadness very well… but that’s about it.

During that period of your life, what did you wish for or dream of the most for yourself?

Nothing. Growing up, I was a big dreamer. I wanted it all.  However, I was taught by many people in my life that dreams were impractical. So in my mid twenties, I stopped dreaming.  Al I wanted to be was a good husband and a good father. Don’t get me wrong – there is nothing wrong with either of those and they are amazing things to aspire to… but I knew deep in my heart that I could and would be so much more!  Yet, every time I started dreaming, I was told by those in my life that it wasn’t “practical” so I stopped.   I always knew I’d be a hell of a dad, and I am… But when I regained my ability to dream, and my passion and vest for having a bigger, better, greater life, I realized that a BIG part of me being an amazing dad, was to show my kids the truth about life… The truth that ANYTHING is within their reach!  I am dreaming again, and I’m seeing my kids starting to dream too!

When your life began to change, what cause the shift(s) for you?

I had a massive crisis of faith and personal identity. Everything I had been raised believing, crumbled around me. I had two choices, lie under the rubble, or or rise up and build something new! I realized that at that moment, I had an opportunity to completely recreate my life as I wanted it to be! It has been the most difficult & painful experience to date, but it has brought me to an immensely beautiful place in my life!
What did your transformation look like for you, and how did the experience feel?
For me, it looked like shedding who I was, to become who I knew I could become. A true metamorphosis.  There are very few things about me now that are a part of that guy. As I think about it… I know that who I am now, was in there all along… It just took a jackhammer, a blowtorch, and a few cases of C4, to get myself out of that prison.   I started with a few personal development seminars, back in 1997. The walls started crumbling, and I couldn’t stop. I became obsessed with discovering who I really am.   As I mentioned earlier, there was a lot of pain involved. IT wasn’t always fun… but it was ALWAYS worth it, and each time I shed another layer, I felt lighter, and happier!
What practice, tool, or mindset has been the most meaningful and impactful for you along your journey?
For me, it’s been a realization and understanding, that I can’t do it ALL at once. I tried for a long time and felt like a failure often. So, my practice now, consists of the following:  1, Work hard to be conscious of every moment. The words I say, the thoughts I think, and the actions I take. Am I doing them consciously?  2.  Do SOMETHING every day towards bettering myself. Even if it’s tiny… Just one thing every day. If I can go to bed, knowing I did something to improve, I’ve won.   3. Be gentle on myself.   4. Take care of my body.   5. Focus on Love, Peace, and Joy.  Anything that doesn’t fit in these three things, or that takes away from them, doesn’t get to take up space in my life.

Having gone through the transformation that you have now, what would you say to your past self?

Live your life with passion, authenticity, and love. At all costs. Don’t listen to anything or anyone who distracts you from that path.  ALWAYS remember your own Divinity.  There is power there that you will never fully be able to comprehend!   And I LOVE YOU!
Where is your life now? What is your experience, emotional state, and perspective like?
I’m still on the path.  I have amazing days and I have rough days. However, the rough days now, serve as lessons, so I can rise higher. I’m at peace. Those are words I could never say for many years.  I am truly living my mission, to Live life with passion, authenticity, and love, by walking my talk. That last part is the kicker sometimes. When I’m walking the talk, all of life is great… When I’m not, it’s a good barometer for me that I am out of sync with my mission, and I have work to do.  I feel a constant vibration in my life now. A vibration of growth, of understanding, of joy, and of adventure. Life is a fucking roller coaster. It’s my choice on whether or not I am going to enjoy the ride, (even the scary parts that I don’t like) or chicken out!
